How I Work With You

My style is collaborative, compassionate, and practical, focusing on both building skills for everyday challenges and exploring deeper patterns that may be holding you back. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, narrative therapy, attachment-focused interventions, mindfulness, somatic awareness, and experiential techniques such as art and play therapy. With a background in behavioral training and therapeutic practice, I tailor each session to meet your unique needs and goals. Clients often describe me as patient and supportive, someone who helps them feel truly understood. Many share that after our sessions, they feel more grounded, empowered, and better equipped to navigate life’s challenges.

Cultural Perspective

As a Mexican-American woman, I bring both personal and professional experience in navigating bicultural identity and intergenerational family dynamics. I have worked extensively with immigrant and first/second-generation families, bicultural communities, and communities of color, supporting them through cultural transitions, systemic barriers, and complex parenting dynamics. I also find deep meaning in working with women and LGBTQ+ clients as they explore identity, resilience, and healing within their cultural contexts. These experiences shape my approach to therapy, allowing me to honor the unique strengths clients carry from their cultural backgrounds while creating a safe and affirming space for their growth and healing.

Beyond the Therapy Room

Outside of work, I enjoy exploring creative outlets like art and journaling, practicing mindfulness, spending time in nature, and learning about different cultures and communities. These activities keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of curiosity, connection, and balance in daily life.

My Path as a Therapist

I began my career supporting children, teens, and families in school and community-based settings, where I helped clients navigate challenges such as trauma, emotional regulation, behavioral concerns, school stress, parenting struggles, and cultural adjustment. My early training as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) provided me with a strong foundation in understanding behavior, building skills, and creating individualized interventions. Over time, I expanded my work to include youth in Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs, where I collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to provide continuity of care and targeted support. I now specialize in working with neurodivergent youth, families managing ADHD and autism spectrum differences, and clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relational challenges, and trauma recovery. In all of my work, I strive to create a warm, safe, and inclusive space where children, teens, and adults can explore their strengths, develop coping skills, and build resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
