Our approach is Personalized because we recognize that each journey is unique, and we tailor our counseling services to meet the specific needs and circumstances of our clients.
We utilize evidence-based techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), etc, that are grounded in the latest research to ensure effective support for our clients.
We use the Compassion Focused Approach to help clients develop self-compassion to reduce shame and self-criticism and promote emotional healing and psychological well-being.
We are trauma-informed and Culturally Sensitive. We recognize the impact of trauma and respect clients' cultural backgrounds to create a safe, empowering space for healing and fostering trust, resilience, and recovery.

Becoming a therapist wasn’t part of my original plan, but life has a way of guiding us toward what truly matters. Before entering the world of mental health, I spent 15 years in a completely different field. On the outside, things looked stable but inside, I felt unfulfilled. Despite my accomplishments, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing. I often found myself questioning my direction, feeling confused and lost about my career and the deeper meaning of my life.
I began my journey of self-discovery and searching for meaning through therapy. In those sessions, I found myself deeply drawn to the honest, vulnerable conversations—the parts of myself that had long gone unspoken. Through this process, I realized just how powerful self-understanding can be. It awakened a desire in me to help create that same kind of space for others, a space where vulnerability is honored, where people feel safe enough to unpack what they’re carrying, and where healing can truly begin.
That quiet calling became louder over time, eventually leading me back to school, through intensive clinical training, and into the work that now feels like home. Becoming a therapist wasn’t the path I originally imagined, but it’s the one that finally made me feel aligned with my values, my purpose, and with others.
Through both my professional journey and personal experiences, I witnessed how powerful therapy can be when it’s rooted in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and genuine connection. I also saw how many people, especially those from marginalized backgrounds, struggled to find care that felt truly safe and affirming. I created The Talking Corner to be that space: warm, inclusive, trauma-informed, and deeply human.
I didn’t start this practice to “fix” people. I started it to help people feel seen, supported, and empowered to become who they already are beneath the stress, shame, and pain. Today, The Talking Corner is a reflection of that mission: a mental health space where clients are met with empathy, authenticity, and respect, every step of the way.
This work is not just what I do. It’s what I believe in.
